Poppy Sebag-Montefiore is a journalist and writer. Her essay, Touch, won a Pushcart Prize in the US, and was translated into Chinese for Beijing based literary journal Dandu 单读. Her Guardian Long read about how two BBC journalists risked their jobs to reveal the truth about Jimmy Savile was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize for Journalism, along with two of podcasts she reported about social media stories in China. She was the creator and editor of the Drum Tower podcast for The Economist, which won the SOPA award for best audio reporting. She is currently the China Affairs Correspondent for The Observer, and is writing a book for Notting Hill Editions.
